AlkaViva H2 Series Citric Acid Cleaning Filter Cartridges

The AlkaViva H2 Series Citric Acid cleaning cartridge set (includes 2 filters, 1 for each filter chamber) for removing hard water scale in the H2 Series Water Ionizers. 

Information from the British Drinking Water Inspectorate shows that drinking water in England is generally considered to be very hard, with most areas of England, particularly east of a line between the Severn and Tees estuaries, exhibiting above 200 ppm for the calcium carbonate equivalent. Water in London, for example, is mostly obtained from the River Thames and River Lea both of which derive significant proportion of their dry weather flow from springs in limestone and chalk aquifers. Wales, Devon, Cornwall and parts of North-West England are softer water areas, and range from 0 to 200 ppm.  We recommend that you check the hardness of your water with your local water supplier and use the H2 Series Cleaning Kit as follows.

How often do I use the H2 Series Cleaning kit?

• If you live in an area where water hardness is 50 - 120 ppm use the cleaning filter once every 6 months.
• If you live in an area where water hardness is 121 - 250 ppm use the cleaning filter once every 3 months.
• If you live in an area where water hardness is >251 ppm use the cleaning filter monthly to maintain optimal performance.
